| MEMRI is a Michigan-registered non-profit corporation dedicated
to improving healthcare quality and lowering healthcare costs in Michigan
through the implementation of a statewide, standardized electronic
medical record.
It is led by a 5-member Board of Directors (see sidebar), assisted
by a newly-formed Board of Advisors, and supported by a variety
of for- and not-for-profit organizations.

MEMRI headquarters is in Lansing, just one block from the State

a very substantial level of support, valued at potentially millions

A Michigan public affairs advocate brings together the surgeon, technologist,

The same writer conducts a major study of e-health threats and opportunities
facing Michigan hospitals, on behalf of the Michigan Health &
Hospital Association, and points inter-alia to the need for an EMR.

A Michigan writer publishes an award-winning book on Technology and
the Future of Health Care, in which the benefits and spread of EMRs
in Europe and Asia are discussed.

of Surgical Education and Research, William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak,MI. Dr. Shanley is a vascular surgeon and critical care specialist.

Jim
joined Karoub Associates in 2000. He is the former manager of Government
Relations for Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation
(SMART). A certified professional of the Academy for Health Care Management,
Jim has a solid background in transportation, health care, government
and grass roots political organizing. Education: B.S., Michigan State

David Ellis
(interim Executive Director), technology writer and consultant,
Lansing |
He is a former British intelligence officer and a technology trends
spotter. He founded regional Internet service provider Voyager.net,
which grew to become the Midwest's biggest ISP. His book Technology
and the Future of Health Care: Preparing for the Next 30 Years (Jossey-Bass)
won the HIMSS 2000 Book of the Year award. David was educated in England,
Hong Kong, and the United States. He has been fluent in various languages,
including Cantonese, and received his MS in the Information and Communication
Sciences from Ball State University. |

Prior to joining Grace & Wild, Jim founded Innoware Consulting an
Internet technology practice after serving as President and Chief
Operating Officer of Rootlevel Inc., one of the Midwest's leading web
application development companies. Jim graduated from Wayne State
University with a B.S. in Psychology, and did additional Master's work
at the University of Detroit
